시민헌장
한반도의 중심부에 위치한 우리 대전은 선사 시대부터 살기 좋은 터전으로서
훌륭한 전통문화를 계승하고, 새로운 과학문명을 일으키며 발전하여 왔다. 우리
대전시민은 따뜻한 인정과 사랑을 바탕으로 창의, 화합, 개척정신을 실천하여,
모두가 잘 사는 사회를 건설하고자 우리의 나아갈 바를 밝힌다.
1. 우리는 법과 질서를 지키며 근면, 성실한 노력으로 스스로 책임을 다하는
민주시민이 된다.
2. 우리는 상부상조하는 미풍양속을 이어받아 이웃과 더불어 사는 복된 시민
사회를 만든다.
3. 우리는 자연과 더불어 살아가는 슬기를 발휘하여 아름답고 쾌적한 환경을
가꾼다.
4. 우리는 다양한 가치를 존중하고 충절정신을 기리며 독창적인 향토문화를
꽃 피운다.
5. 우리는 첨단과학기술의 중심도시를 만들어 후손에게 길이 잘 살 수 있는
미래를 열어준다.
The Citizen's Charter
Daejeon, located in the heart of the Korean Peninsula, has been one of
the most comfortable areas to live in since the Prehistoric Era. Daejeon has
been enriched with a splendid culture and magnificent traditions, and has
created a new scientific and technological civilization that has developed
with the advancement of science and technology.
With the aim of building a prosperous community in which people are
nurtured with generosity and affection as well as who work together to foster
creativity, and harmony and carry on the spirit of our pioneers, citizens of
Daejeon hereby announce the following principles:
1. We shall observe law and order, be democratic-oriented, and be
responsible citizens of integrity who work with diligence.
2. We shall recognize the traditional value of social interdependence and
establish a comfortable community for all citizens.
3. We shall use our wisdom to protect nature and to make the city
environment-friendly.
4. We shall respect different beliefs and the spirit of fidelity, and we will be
committed in preserving our unique local culture.
5. We shall develop the city into a world-class science center, in order that
our descendents will have a prosperous future.
